(WDAY Radio) -- South Dakota Kristi Noem doesn't believe Congress should pass the latest border bill agreement.

The Republican governor went on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning, calling it a "poison pill of a bill that essentially codifies illegal immigration," and said it would "put in a statute that people can now come here illegally."  Sources say the deal would provide more power to significantly restrict illegal immigration and would speed up the asylum process to consider cases within six months.  Former President Donald Trump has urged House Republicans to reject any border deals.

Noem also added that Texas should continue to stand its ground for its use of razor wire at the southern border. She was one of the 25 governors who signed a letter in support of the state's ongoing dispute with federal border agents and the Biden Administration.
