University Of Minnesota intends to buy teaching hospital from Fairview

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  The University of Minnesota is planning to buy back its teaching hospital in Minneapolis from Fairview Health Services.

Regents at the school are expected to approve a letter today for a deal that would close by the end of 2027.

Fairview bought the university's hospital in a financial bailout nearly three decades ago.

The deal must be approved by regulators, a process that could stretch into 2025.
