Initiative proposing congressional age limit in North Dakota

(Bismarck, ND) -- Voters may soon get to decide whether North Dakota's congressional representatives should have age limits.

The group "North Dakota for Term Limits" submitted signatures to the Secretary of State's Office in hopes of placing the issue before voters on the primary ballot in June.

The initiative would ban anyone over the age of 80 from serving in Congress.

The chairman of the group says age limits would send a clear signal to Congress and the rest of the country that North Dakota wants to ensure people representing them are mentally and physically able to do the job.
