(Grand Forks, ND) -- Officials with Grand Forks Public Health are encouraging residents to check their medical history to see if they have had a Hepatitis-A vaccine.

Nearly 40 people were vaccinated at a free event over the weekend at the University of North Dakota. The vaccine clinic was in response to a reported case of a restaurant employee on the Grand Forks campus with hepatitis A.

In recent years there have been few cases reported in the state including one in 2023, two in 2022 and one in 2021 and 2020.
