(Grand Forks, ND) -- A Grand Forks mother who abandoned her 4-year-old daughter along I-29 last year will not be going to prison.
A judge accepted a plea agreement and sentenced 37-year-old Ashley Johnson to time served. Johnson told the judge she was having mental health issues when she left her daughter by the Interstate. She will be on supervised probation for two-and-a-half years, and is required to undergo regular mental health treatment.
