(Bismarck, ND) -- A report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows an increase in workplace deaths in North Dakota.
There were a total of 37 in 2022, which is three more than the previous year. About 35% of those were from "transportation incidents", meaning accidents involving road or train travel. Fatal occupational injuries in the state have ranged from a high of 65 in 2012 to a low of 20 in 1992, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The report finds workplace fatalities appear to becoming more frequent across the nation. Workplace deaths dipped going into the pandemic, but were higher between 2017 and 2019. You can find more information by clicking here.
