Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline route inching closer to completion

(Bismarck, ND) -- Summit Carbon Solutions is moving closer to establishing a CO2 pipeline route across the Midwest.

The company announced Valero will become a new shipping partner with eight ethanol plants to be incorporated into the pipeline route. The proposed pipeline and capture facilities will run through North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Iowa. North Dakota is set to become the home of the proposed carbon sequestration site.

Participation from these eight new Valero facilities is expected to add more than a billion gallons of ethanol per year, and will lead to the capture of 3.1 million metric tons of CO2 annually.
