(Grand Forks, ND) -- A Grand Forks man is facing charges following yesterday's pre-dawn, high-speed pursuit in Grand Forks.
County officials say local deputies spotted a pair of motorists around 12:30 a.m. traveling at about 80 mph in the 17 block of South Washington Street. The chase ended when the pair pulled over in an alley off the one-hundred block of Park Drive a short time later. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Elijah James Belgarde, reportedly was arrested for fleeing law enforcement, speeding, driving under suspension and reckless endangerment charges.
Officials say the passenger fled on foot and remains at large.
