(Bismarck, ND) -- Industry experts are hailing the latest North Dakota oil- and gas-production figures.

Officials with the state Department of Mineral Resources say North Dakota wells produced more than one point two million barrels of oil per day in February, up 13% from the previous month.  Meanwhile, gas-production were also up, jumping 12% to more than 3.3 billion cubic feet per day.

Authorities say active-drilling-rig numbers are running in the upper 30s, with forecasters predicting that more wells will most likely resume production by early summer.
