(Bismarck, ND) -- State transportation officials are gearing up for this year's month-long 'Click It or Ticket' vehicle-safety campaign.

Sources with the North Dakota Department of Transportation say the 2024 campaign will run from May 1st to June 2nd.  The annual safety campaign serves to remind motorists to wear seat belts when driving.  Under state law, all motor-vehicle occupants must wear a properly adjusted and fastened seatbelt or be secured in a child-safety seat.

Last year, North Dakota's seatbelt-use figure stood at 79%, compared to 91% nationwide.
