Senator Kevin Cramer: former President Donald Trump provided input on $95B foreign aid package

(Fargo, ND) -- Senator Kevin Cramer tells WDAY Radio Now that former President Donald Trump provided some input to senate republicans who were involved in crafting provisions of the  $95 billion foreign aid package recently signed by President Joe Biden.

Cramer said some of Trump's input was specific to funding for Ukraine.

The senator said $9 billion of the $61 billion allocated to Ukraine is a forgivable loan to be used for "humanitarian purposes".

The funding package also targets Russian financial assets.

"We can take Vlaidmyr Putin's money that we have locked down in sanctions, and have for a long time and use that to repay ourselves," said Cramer.
