Mandan man arrested in Stutsman County following chase

(Jamestown, ND) — A 27-year-old Mandan man is in the Stutsman County Jail following a pursuit that spanned through Stutsman County.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding at just before noon on Tuesday on I-94 in Stutsman County. The driver, identified as Chance Standridge, continued to flee in his 2004 Honda Accord at higih speeds towards the City of Jamestown.

He exited I-94 at Bloom and continued to flee at high speeds. Prior to entering the City of Jamestown, the Highway Patrol discontinued the pursuit.

Standridge continued to flee into the City of Jamestown, where he was involved in a property crash near the railroad tracks at 3rd Street and 12th Avenue SE. He struck a 2002 Chevrolet Astro, driven by 65-year-old Ricky Haugen of Jamestown. Haugen was not injured, and Standridge fled the scene.

Jamestown Police located Standridge and took him into custody near the 1500 block of 4th Avenue NW.

He has been charged with six offenses and had one outstanding warrant.
