(Hennepin County, MN) -- The former prosecutor in the Kim Potter manslaughter trial says an early offer to discuss a plea was rejected.
Imran Ali says shortly after he charged her with second-degree manslaughter, he wanted to sit down with the defense to discuss a plea and says he was told a firm no.
Attorney General Keith Ellison took over the case a month later and upped the charges to first-degree manslaughter. Potter was found guilty of both charges in December.
