(Fargo, ND) -- The wait is nearly over for the Cass County Sheriff's Office and their new K-9.
"After remarkable community engagement this past week, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Scheels, will officially be naming the newest member of the sheriff’s office Friday afternoon," said Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner in a statement made to WDAY Radio.
The German Shepherd arrived in Fargo a little over a week ago and will be heading to Iowa, along with his handler Deputy Glenn Manning, next week to start training together.
The final eight names up for consideration are:
- Kota
- Dakota
- Cass
- Knox
- Moose
- Ruger
- Trace
- Axel
The announcement will be made officially at 1 p.m. Friday here.
