NBA Play-In Tournament preview

The NBA postseason is set to tip off Tuesday. The play-in tournament will begin with the Atlanta Hawks challenging the Miami Heat in South Beach for the East's seventh seed. The Heat claimed the Southeast Division crown for the second straight year after finishing the regular season 44-38. Atlanta placed second in the Southeast at 41-41. The winner advances to play the East's two-seed Boston Celtics in the first round.

Out west, four-time NBA champion LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena. LA won nine of its last 11 games to end the year with a 43-39 record. Minnesota will be without starters Rudy Gobert due to suspension and Jaden McDaniels due to injury. The winner of the game will move on to play the West's two-seed Memphis Grizzlies in the first round.
