College Football Playoff considering expanding again

(Dallas, TX) -- The College Football Playoff could be getting expanded once again.

CFP executive director Bill Hancock told reporters that the idea of a 14-team field beginning in 2026 was considered during a meeting in Dallas on Wednesday. The College Football Playoff has been a four-team bracket since its inception in 2014, but the tournament is expanding to 12 teams starting in the 2024 season. Hancock added that there are still issues that need to be ironed out before the proposed expansion becomes imminent.
