(St. Paul, MN) -- The Wild gave up a late goal during a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at the Xcel Energy Center.

Connor DeWar and Jonas Brodin both scored in the first period to put Minnesota up 2-1, but the Canes tied the game in the final minute of the second. Carolina knocked in the game-winner at the end of a power play in the middle of the third period, and the Wild weren't able to knock in the equalizer. Minnesota remains in fifth place in the Central Division with 62 points and a 28-25-6 record.

The Wild visit Nashville on Thursday night.
