(Eagan, MN) -- The Vikings are in the market for a new starting running back.
ESPN is reporting that the Purple cut running back Alexander Mattison yesterday. Mattison was expected to take over as the Vikings workhorse last season after the team parted ways with Dalvin Cook, but he struggled throughout the season and eventually lost the starting job to Ty Chandler. He ran for 700 yards and scored three receiving touchdowns last year.
