(Fort Myers, FL) -- The Minnesota Twins will be without one of the game's best closing pitchers when they start the season later this month.
The team announced yesterday that Jhoan Duran will start the 2024 season on the ten-day injured list as he recovers from a moderate oblique strain. The third-year flamethrower went 3-6 with a 2.45 ERA, 27 saves, and 84 strikeouts in 59 appearances last season. The team also announced that reliever Caleb Thielbar and starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani will also miss the start of the season.
In other team news, Minnesota beat Boston 5-2 in Spring Training yesterday.
