The Minnesota Twins fell to the Washington Nationals 7-5 in their series rubber match on Thursday.
Simeon Woods Richardson gave up five runs over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision. Anthony Banda recorded two outs out of the bullpen. John Klein surrendered two runs over 1 1/3 innings and was tagged with the loss. Taylor Rogers tossed 1 ⅔ scoreless innings.
Brooks Lee drove in a pair of runs. Ryan Jeffers hit a solo home run, his fifth of the season. Josh Bell and Tristan Gray each added an RBI.
The Twins fell to 16-22 on the season.
The Twins will now head to Cleveland for a weekend series against the Guardians. The series will begin on Friday evening with first pitch scheduled for 6:15 p.m. and game coverage available on Apple TV. Connor Prielipp will be on the mound for Minnesota while Parker Messick counters for Cleveland.
