NFL approves kickoff changes

(Orlando, FL) -- Kickoffs in the NFL will look different this upcoming season.

The league's owners approved changes that will make kickoffs look more like the XFL's version of the play. Kickers will continue to kick from the 35-yard line, but players on the kickoff team will line up on the receiving team's 40-yard line while the receiving team will setup between the 35-and-30 yard lines. If a ball doesn't reach the landing zone between the goal line and 20-yard line then it will be placed at the 40-yard line, it will be placed at the 35-yard line if it goes out of the end zone or at the 20-yard line if it hits the landing zone and rolls into the end zone.

The ball must be returned if it is caught in the landing zone. No player besides the kicker and returners can move until the ball touches either the ground or a player inside the landing zone.
