Anne Carlsen Center to close two locations, end multiple support programs

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – An organization that provides specialized services to children and young adults with diverse behavioral health and developmental needs across North Dakota says its making changes to its programs.

Anne Carlsen Center CEO Stephanie Nelson says the organization is closing its Minot and Valley City clinical sites, along with discontinuing in-home supports, respite and independent habilitation services across the state.

“Rising operating costs, flat funding streams, and persistent workforce challenges made this path necessary to ensure the long-term strength of our organization and the quality of care we are committed to providing,” Nelson said.

These changes will directly affect fewer than five percent of the individuals Anne Carlsen serve annually and fewer than six percent of its employees.

“We recognize the impact this has on individuals and families, and we are committed to working one-on-one with each affected person to ensure the smoothest transition possible,” Nelson said.

She said the changes allows Anne Carlsen Center to refine their programming focus and maximize mission impact.
