Tarnasky Named NDACTE New Teacher of the Year

 

The North Dakota Association of Career & Technical Educators (NDACTE) held its annual conference in Bismarck during the first week of August.

The Association presented the conference awards, which recognizes members, supporters, and outside organizations for their contributions to career and technical education. Traci Tarnasky, health sciences teacher at West Fargo High School, was named the NDACTE New Teacher of the Year in Health Science Education Award. 

This award recognizes new CTE health sciences teachers who have made significant contributions toward innovative and unique career and technical education programs and shown a professional commitment early in their careers. Ms. Tarnasky holds a Bachelor’s in Dietetics and a Master’s in Nursing Education. Prior to becoming a high school teacher, she worked for five years in the field of dietetics and supervised junior level nursing students on various medical and/or behavioral health units. She also worked as a staff nurse on a medical surgical unit.

Tarnasky is set to start her fifth year as a health sciences teacher at West Fargo High School.
