Essentia Health offers a variety of flu shot options

Influenza season is upon us and now is the time to protect yourself, your family and the community by getting vaccinated. The flu vaccine is recommended for people six months and older, including people with compromised immune systems and chronic medical conditions.

“Getting a flu shot is one of the best ways to keep your family healthy and improve population health,” says Essentia Health Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Rajesh Prabhu. “The flu shot protects the most vulnerable in our community – elderly, young children and those with significant health conditions.”

The flu vaccine is available at all Essentia locations. Ask your doctor for a flu shot or visit one of our walk-in clinics listed below.

Spooktacular Flu Event – October 12

Essentia Health-South University Clinic located at 1702 S University Drive in Fargo is hosting the Spooktacular Flu Event on Saturday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the whole family. Grab your little ghouls and goblins for a scary good time with trick or treating, games and prizes, craft and vendor show, flu shots and more!

The flu vaccine is made from influenza strains identified to be the most likely to hit the Northern hemisphere, based on what medical experts have seen occur in the southern half of the world.

Flu vaccinations are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance.
