On Thursday, at approximately 2:01 p.m., officers from the Grand Forks Police Department were dispathced to a report of an accidental shooting in the City of Grand Forks.
The incident happened in the parking lot of the Post Office, located at 2501 28th Avenue South.
Upon arrival, officers found a man, in his 30s, with a wound to his leg. The man was transported to Altru Hospital by ambulance for treatment of his injuries.
At this time, the discharge of the weapon appears to be accidental, while the man was handling a 9mm pistol.
A request will be forwarded to the City Prosecutor to determine if any charges will be filed.
