Sign Replacements at the Red River Weigh Station in Moorhead Scheduled to Begin Tomorrow

Replacement of the signs at the Red River Weigh Station on Interstate 94 in Moorhead will begin Thursday, August 23. During this work, motorists will encounter a shoulder closure on eastbound I-94 between 34th Street and the weigh station.

Crews from Global Specialty Contractors will be on site for approximately one week as they remove and replace the existing weigh station signs. The sign replacement project costs $73,370.

Weigh stations are an important part of Minnesota’s truck size and weight enforcement efforts, and are a partnership between the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol. MnDOT owns and maintains the facilities. The State Patrol’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division operates them.
