Minnesota HAD FOUR MORE DEATHS SUNDAY, MAKING NINE TOTAL.....62 NEW CONFIRMED CASES...THERE ARE NOW 503 IN ALL…....STILL 4 IN CLAY COUNTY....ABOUT 18-THOUSAND HAVE BEEN TESTED.

In South Dakota, 22 NEW POSITIVE TESTS SUNDAY....90 NOW TOTAL....STILL JUST ONE FATALITY.... ABOUT 32-HUNDRED HAVE BEEN TESTED....

A COMPANY STATEMENT SAYS THE 3 ARE PHYSICAL THERAPISTS WHO WORK IN SANFORD HOSPITALS...THIS COMES JUST A DAY AFTER THE COMPANY REPORTED THAT ONE OF IT'S STAFFERS TESTED POSITIVE AFTER WORKING WITH RESIDENTS AT EVENTIDE NURSING HOME IN MOORHEAD..... THE 3 ARE ISOLATING AT HOME ...Seven patients are being notified they may have been exposed.

ND Gov. Doug Burgum has requested a major presidential disaster declaration to unlock federal assistance to support North Dakota’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic…..The governor’s request seeks assistance for public infrastructure and facilities; mitigation grants for counties and tribal nations; assistance for individuals and households; and supplemental nutrition and transitional sheltering assistance, among other aid.

THE ND STATE HEALTH OFFICE ALSO AMENDED SATURDAY'S ORDER ABOUT RETURNING TRAVELERS....Originally, the order applied to residents who have returned to North Dakota in the last 14 days and those who will return in the future, but THE AMENDMENT removes the quarantine requirement for people who have already returned...A STATE SPOKESPERSON SAYS THE change was made to reduce confusion for travelers who had already returned and gone back to work....The amendment also EXEMPTS WORKERS IN MORE THAN A DOZEN SECTORS LIKE HEALTH CARE, AG, AND ENERGY..

4 NEW FATALITIES IN MINNESOTA SUNDAY....three OF THEM residents of long-term care facilities, ABOVE THE AGE OF 80, in THE MINNEAPOLIS AREA....The four deaths represent the largest one-day jump in Minnesota fatalities since the first confirmed case in the state on March 6. They bring the state's death toll to 9...THE ONE OF SUNDAY'S 4 WHO "DIDN'T" RESIDE IN A LONG TERM CARE FACILITY was in their 50s and had underlying health conditions....Before Sunday, the five previous deaths all involved people in their 70s and 80s who had underlying health problems...

BIG NEWS FROM THE WHITE HOUSE SUNDAY WHERE President Trump extended the voluntary national shutdown for a month, bowing to public-health experts who told him the VIRUS could claim over 100,000 AMERICAN lives....It was a stark shift in tone by the president, who only days ago SAID HE HOPED THAT the country COULD REOPEN BY EASTER....HE SAID HIS ADVISORS TELL HIM THAT THE PEAK OF THE OUTBREAK IS LIKELY ABOUT 2 WEEKS AWAY...THE ORIGINAL 15 DAY GUIDELINES WERE SET TO EXPIRE TODAY....THE PRESIDENT SAID HE DEFERRED TO HIS MEDICAL EXPERTS WHO FELT THAT ANYTHING BEFORE THE END OF APRIL WOULD BE UNWISE....
