The following statement was provided by Bethany Retirement Living:

“We have one confirmed case of Covid-19 at Bethany on 42nd at this time. The confirmed case is in the skilled care area of Bethany on 42nd.  We do not have any confirmed cases at Bethany on University.  We are working hard and doing everything we can to prevent the spread of this virus at Bethany on 42nd.  We are in close communication with North Dakota Department of Health officials to ensure we are taking the appropriate steps,” says Shawn Stuhaug, President and CEO of Bethany Retirement Living.

“Resident health and safety are top priorities at Bethany.  Due to patient privacy laws, we are unable to share any further specific information about the confirmed case, but we have notified the residents’ immediate family members.  We will continue to keep family members up-to-date through personal phone calls, e-mail, Bethany’s Facebook page and Bethany’s website, so they have the latest information about their loved ones.

“We remain in contact with the North Dakota Department of Health to stay up-to-date on the latest information to prevent and manage the spread of Coronavirus.  We have activated our COVID-19 emergency response plan.

“We continue to reinforce to our staff that anyone who is sick should stay home.  We also continue to screen all individuals – including employees – as they enter the building.”

Since early March, all Bethany facilities were closed to visitors as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and North Dakota Department of Health.  Family members can continue to interact with their loved ones by using video chat, calling, texting or checking in on social media."
