Fargo house fire claims lives of two animals

At 8:59 p.m. Thursday evening, Fargo firefighters were called to a report of a structure fire at 1708 20th Avenue South.  Upon arrival, firefighters found the home filled with smoke but no fire.  The resident reported returning from work to find thick black smoke in the home.  He entered the home to locate and remove his two unresponsive dogs.  Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the dogs but their efforts were unsuccessful.

It is believed the fire burned itself out and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.  An initial damage assessment is not known at this time.
