West Fargo Fire Department responds to drowning

 

At 6:37 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, the West Fargo Fire Department was called to Goldenwood Drive at 13th Avenue NW for a report of a drowning in the Sheyenne River. As units from the West Fargo Fire and Police Departments arrived, the victim was being pulled from the water by bystanders.

Officers and firefighters began CPR on the victim, a 14-year-old male.  The victim left the scene in cardiac arrest and was transported by FM Ambulance to a local hospital. The victim was pronounced dead early this morning.

Due to the age of the individual, no further identification will be released from the City of West Fargo at this time. This incident remains under investigation by the West Fargo Police Department.
