Grand Forks Man Charged With Murder

An 18-year-old Grand Forks man faces a Class AA Felony charge of murder in the death of five-month-old Brynley Rymer.

According to court documents, Mason Matthew Kamrowski was caring for Rymer on May 21.

Between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 8:17 p.m., while in Kamrowski’s care, Rymer suffered a medical emergency. The medical emergency required transport to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, and subsequently by Life Flight to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

The affidavit of probable cause says Rymer died the next day. An autopsy was ordered and performed. The autopsy determined that the injuries were “abusive in nature and not the results of an accident or a natural disease.”

The manner of death, according to the autopsy, was certified as a homicide.

The judge presiding in the case has set bail at $100,000.

Kamrowski will be back in court October 15.
