No injuries reported when vehicle collides into apartment building in Grand Forks

No one was injured Saturday night when a vehicle drove into an apartment building in Grand Forks.

According to the Grand Forks Fire Department, the accident happened at 9:20 p.m. at 4240 5th Avenue North in Grand Forks.

Firefighters arrived on scene, where they found a large hole through a bedroom wall of a ground floor apartment at the complex. The vehicle itself came to rest in the kitchen area and was found to be running when firefighters arrived. A search of the vehicle and the apartment ensued, which found the apartment to be unoccupied. Power was disconnected to the unit and the vehicle was removed.

Significant damage to the unit required a load bearing wall to be shored. Plywood sheathing secured the opening, fire officials say.

No injuries were reported.
