Individual arrested for fleeing in a motor vehicle, other charges after Wednesday night pursuit

 

Shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, the West Fargo Police Department pursued 26-year-old Cody Haman after he fled from officers during a traffic stop.

After a short pursuit, Haman and his passenger, 25-year-old Kiana Chenze from Jamestown, N.D, jumped out of the car and fled on foot in the area of second St. E in West Fargo. The car, still in drive, struck a light pole.

Officers followed Haman into the apartment complex, it was believed that he may have had a gun. Haman took apart a gun and attempted to hide the pieces. Officers, along with assistance from the West Fargo Fire Department located the pieces of the gun, and it was taken into evidence by the West Fargo Police Department.

Haman was later found inside an apartment bedroom and was arrested for Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing on Foot, Driving Under Suspension, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and multiple local warrants from North and South Dakota. Chenze was also arrested for Fleeing on Foot.
