A 59-year-old Hankinson man is dead after a crash in rural Richland County Tuesday evening.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday on Richland County Road 1, approximately four miles north of Hankinson.
The Patrol says the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Impala was southbound on County Road 1, when it met a northbound John Deere tractor, which was towing a disc plow and coil packer.
As the Impala passed the tractor, it struck the front of the disc plow, causing extensive damage to the top.
The driver of the Impala, who is not being named pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver of the John Deere tractor, 18-year-old Brandon Hart, of Wales, was not injured in the crash.
The crash continues to be investigated by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
