Click It or Ticket Enforcement Period Begins

Law enforcement across the state will have extra patrols from November 1 through December 13 for the Click It or Ticket campaign enforcing the state seat belt law. Seat belts save lives and continue to be the single most effective way to prevent injury and death in a motor vehicle crash.

In 2017, one unbelted vehicle occupant died every seven days in North Dakota.

“A seat belt restrains occupants in the vehicle’s designed protective space,” says Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt. “A seat belt also keeps the driver correctly positioned behind the wheel to help maintain control of a vehicle. Buckle up every trip, every time.”

This campaign is part of the Vision Zero strategy to eliminate motor vehicle crash fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roads.
