Governor’s Prevention Advisory Council on Drugs and Alcohol to Meet Nov. 29 in Bismarck

Members of the Governor’s Prevention Advisory Council on Drugs and Alcohol will discuss legislative initiatives, including prevention funding, and other developments when they meet Thursday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Peace Garden Room of the Capitol at 600 E. Boulevard Ave., in Bismarck. The council supports healthy and safe communities through collaborative substance abuse prevention, education and enforcement programs and resources.

The meeting agenda also includes updates on federally-funded substance abuse prevention grant activities, the coordination of prevention efforts such as the Main Street Initiative and behavioral health initiatives underway in schools, and updates on the activities of related task forces and councils, including the Children’s Behavioral Health Task Force.  

Council members will also be able to report on new developments involving their respective agencies and organizations. The meeting agenda includes time for public comment before the council adjourns. The meeting agenda is available online at www.nd.gov/dhs/info/publicnotice/index.html.
