A new hospital is on the horizon in Grand Forks, and Altru Health System’s main campus on Columbia Road will be the site.
The construction phase of the project has not yet begun, according to Altru spokeswoman Sally Grosgebauer. But, construction site preparations are now underway for the massive project, which is slated to be complete in 2022.
The bulk of the construction itself will begin in the end of June, with the steel superstructure to begin at the end of October.
As soon as mass excavation starts, which is anticipated to begin at the end of April and complete in July, those operations will take place 24 hours a day, seven days a week to reduce the duration of that portion of the project and decrease the daytime truck traffic, Grosgebauer says.
The total investment is $305 million.
