Devils Lake PD Officer Involved In Shooting

An investigation continues into an officer involved shooting Thursday. The Devils Lake Police Department responded to a call of a suspicious person yesterday at about 4:30pm. While making contact with and attempting to apprehend the suspect, a struggle ensued. The officer involved discharged his weapon, resulting in the death of the suspect. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating. Per departmental procedure, the police officer involved has been placed on paid administrative leave.
