An investigation is underway following a reported shooting early Sunday morning in Maple Grove Township, according to Valley News Live.
At approximately 3:17 a.m., Becker County Sheriff’s deputies, along with White Earth Police, were dispatched to the township, which is 20 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes.
An adult male is dead as a result of the shooting. His name is being withheld pending family notification.
Authorities say the incident does not appear to be random in nature, and there appears to be no threat to the public.
In addition to the two reporting agencies, the Minnesota BCA, Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office, West Central Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, Paul Bunyan Task Force and Headwater Safe Trails Task Force are all investigating the incident.
Authorities say no further details will be available until the investigation is complete.
