The Sargent County Sheriff’s Office says a 71-year-old man has died from a farm accident in rural Brampton.
On Wednesday, at approximately 10:45 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to rural Brampton, for a farm accident, where an individual became trapped in a grain bin containing corn.
An area farmer was driving past the bin site and noticed a running grain auger with no one present. The farmer checked the site and, after looking into the bin, he saw indications that the individual was trapped in the bin.
Emergency personnel and area residents were able to locate the individual and extract him from the bin, but life saving efforts were unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
