On Monday, at approximately 6:15 p.m., a body, subsequently identified as that of Fernando Balboa, was discovered in rural Polk County.
The circumstances behind the death of Balboa are under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Grand Forks Police Department. There were no obvious signs of trauma; however, the investigation is ongoing and a cause of death has not yet been determined.
He had been missing since July 6.
