North Dakotans asked about their perceptions of efforts aimed at preventing alcohol and drug abuse

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakotans are being asked about their perceptions when it comes to efforts aimed at preventing drug and alcohol abuse.

"Really the purpose of doing this over time is to look to see if there are trends or changes. We want to make sure that we are implementing the most effective and efficient efforts that we can," said Laura Anderson, Assistant Division Director at the Department of Human Services Behavioral Health Division.

Anderson says the random sample survey is conducted every two years. The "statewide community services survey" allows the state to collect data on prevention efforts, with information being collected used to direct policies at the state and local level.

The state is partnering with the Wyoming Survey and Analysis Center to conduct the survey. The survey runs through July.
