FM churches team with Orphan Grain Train to collect winter clothing and necessities for Ukraine

(Fargo, ND) -- A couple of churches in the FM metro are running donation drives to support children living in orphanages in Ukraine.

"We're working with a group of 8 orphanages in Ukraine right now and we're collecting items for them as there is a very difficult winter coming on as I hear from them. They're without electricity, without heat," said Kirk Rosen. a representative with Orphan Grain Train North Dakota.

Rosen says winter clothing drives for children and adults in Ukraine are taking place now through Friday November 18th at St. Andrew Lutheran Church of West Fargo and Our Redeemer Luthern Church of Moorhead. Other items needed include toiletries, blankets, flashlights and kitchen utensils. To learn more, go to their website OGT.org, and use the tab to find the page for the North Dakota branch for Orphan Grain Train.

"With these orphaned children it's just a matter of they really don't know what's going on. It's a difficult situation," said Rosen.
