(Fargo, ND) -- Just over a year after reopening and re-branding themselves with new ownership, Summit Nightclub has officially closed in Fargo.

The business, formally known as Africa Nightclub, originally made the announcement of their closure in January on social media.

Owners from Summit met with the Fargo City Commission Tuesday night to address the closure, and have asked for a six-month stay on their liquor license to find another use for it.

The business had been under fire for quite some time after a security guard was shot and killed in the parking lot back in May of 2021.
