(Fargo, ND) — Officials with Cass County Electric Cooperative (CCEC) say it could be days before power is fully restored to customers.

“We are likely looking at the weekend or longer before a full system restoral is possible,” CCEC said in a Facebook post Wednesday morning. “Much depends on the weather, conditions on roads and right-of-ways, and additional damage found as we patrol.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, 171 outages are still being reported with 4,077 customers without power following the ice storm that impacted the region Monday night through Wednesday morning.

“It is impossible for us to provide accurate restoral times, as we have hundreds of outages happening simultaneously throughout our service territory,” CCEC said.

Cass County Electric says crews from Roughrider Electric Cooperative, Inc., Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative, and Mckenzie Electric Cooperative, Inc. are either on the scene or on their way to aid in the restoration. Minnkota Power Cooperative, CCEC’s power supplier, is working on transmission and substation issues on top of CCEC’s system damage.
