(Fargo, ND) -- Police in Fargo say a report of a man who claimed to have killed his daughter turned out to be false.
Police received a call shortly before 4:30 this morning from a woman saying a man stopped her car near the Main Avenue Bridge and told her he had thrown his daughter into the Red River.
Cops found the man intoxicated and contacted the girl's mother and found the girl was safe with mom.
Prosecutors will consider disorderly conduct charges against the man.
