WHITE EARTH NATION – A man is dead after an ATV chase on the White Earth Nation.
A Becker County deputy saw a man at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 34 and County Highway 21 on Friday, May 8 he recognized as Michael Azure.
Since they knew his driving privileges revoked, the deputy put on their emergency lights. Azure fled and the chase ended after he went on a gravel road and went out of the deputy’s sight.
Around 15 minutes later, the deputy found the ATV in a field. Azure was found unresponsive in a nearby wooded area. Deputies performed lifesaving measures, but Azure died.
His body has been taken to the Ramsey County, Minnesota Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
