NY AG wants Former President Donald Trump to pay $370M in suit alleging fraud

(New York, NY)  --  The attorney general of New York wants former President Trump and his company to pay 370-million dollars for inflating the value of his assets for more than a decade.

That's according to a penalty request filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James today in Trump's civil fraud trial.

The penalty is well above the 250-million James had estimated Trump should pay in 2022, when she sued the former president and accused him of inflating his net worth to obtain favorable treatment from banks and insurers.

The judge in the case already held Trump liable for fraud before the trial started in October.
