(New York, NY)  --  Closing arguments are underway in the penalty phase of former President Trump's civil defamation trial.

Trump walked out of the courtroom as writer E. Jean Carroll's lawyer began speaking. A different jury found him liable last year of sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in a department store dressing room back in the nineties and then repeatedly calling her a liar when she spoke out.  his jury will determine how much he should pay the writer, if anything. She's seeking $10 million.

The judge shut Trump down when he claimed he'd never targeted Carroll and that he was just trying to defend himself, his family and the presidency, striking those comments from the record.
