(Blacksburg, VA)  --  University campuses across the country remain tense as protests against the Israel-Gaza war continue to brush up against police and administration.

Last night Virginia Tech was the scene of the most recent arrests as police removed protesters from an encampment. Police gave protesters five minutes to clear the area or face arrest after the school deemed the situation had the potential to become unsafe. No word on exactly how many arrests were made.

Protests have been taking place on many campuses since October, when the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israel, drawing a massive ongoing response that has killed more than 34,000 people in the Gaza Strip.
